My name is Amanda. I am 39 years old. I'm Married. And I work in Lagos as a nurse.
I finished my Secondary school early, but my father did not allow me enter the University until I was 20. He said a seventeen year old girl does not have enough experience to be on her own so my siblings and I all waited till we were in our twenties before we got admission.
I studied Nursing at School and graduated with an Excellent Grade at the age of 25. I went for NYSC immediately and I finished at 26. I traveled back to my home in Lagos and I was there, a single girl, going to work from home, living with my parents for TEN SOLID YEARS – Ten Years of HELL!.

I missed the reception of that wedding because I went home to cry. I cried from afternoon till late night and when my Mum saw me that night, she took me to a nearby hospital thinking I had a health problem, but its only me that knows my agony.
